Val Cheney is frustrated with women not having a say in the decisions that could impact their bodies. She writes:

“As women, it’s frightening to know that decisions about our bodies are constantly being made without our consent. The CDC currently recommends that women over the age of 21 undergo a pap smear once every 3 years. But now, healthcare guidelines are slowly turning towards eliminating the pap. Doing this would be detrimental to women and the progress that has been made in recent years. Current trends estimate that cervical cancer could be eliminated within the next 20-40 years, but without the Pap smear and other reproductive health screenings, the odds of achieving this within our lifetimes is low. That’s why it falls under everyone’s responsibility to protect the Pap!”
