“I want to take a minute to talk about the Pap test…A recent study shows that for at least a decade, fewer than 40% of Indigenous women have been screened every two years, despite the fact that cervical cancer case rates are more than twice for Indigenous women than in the general population. [I]t’s critical that routine cervical screening (Pap testing every 3 years) is a part of every adult woman’s wellness screening…regardless of income level or what community they are a part of, for the health of everyone with a cervix.”
