I have been very open about my mother’s passing and how it’s broken me to my core. For those of you coming across this post, my mother had cervical cancer and died September 6, 2020, only 8 months after her initial diagnosis. After the age of 65, Pap tests are no longer recommended. Maybe if they were, my mom’s diagnosis would have happened sooner…The importance of Pap tests at all ages is significant. Do it for the ones you love, do it for your future, but most importantly, do it for yourself. Don’t skip your screenings and encourage the women in your life to do the same.
