Bevin Baughn, a health and wellness expert from Texas, spends much of her time advising others on how to keep themselves healthy, and now she’s using her Instagram platform to share a personal story about how the pap test saved her own life.

“Back in late January I did a routine pap test that came back just slightly abnormal. My doctor wanted to be on the safe side and do a small biopsy to get a better idea of what was going on. The results came back and I was diagnosed with cin III cervical dysplasia (highest degree of abnormal cells). If left untreated, this can turn into cervical cancer in the future so my doctor thought the best course of action was surgery to remove the cells.

I really wanted to share this to emphasize the importance of getting your regular check ups!…Knowledge is power and I believe I made the best decision to take care of my health in the long run.”

hi friends and happy sunday!~ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! i’ve been absent on the gram for a few weeks and wanted to give you all a bit of a life update… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ back in late january i did a routine pap test that came back just slightly abnormal. my doctor wanted to be on the safe side and do a small biopsy to get a better idea of what was going on. the results came back and i was diagnosed with cin III cervical dysplasia (highest degree of abnormal cells). if left untreated, this can turn into cervical cancer in the future so my doctor thought the best course of action was surgery to remove the cells. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ it’s been just over 4 weeks since my surgery and i’m happy to report everything went great! i was able to go home that same day and didn’t have too much pain. now i’m feeling really good and ready to jump back into working out! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i really wanted to share this to emphasize the importance of getting your regular check ups! something like this is easily treated if caught early but can turn into something more serious if ignored. was the whole process scary and stressful? absolutely – especially needing to have multiple appointments and being in the hospital during a global pandemic!! but knowledge is power and i believe i made the best decision to take care of my health in the long run. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ health is more than working out and looking fit. you must take care of the inside for a long and healthy life! please remember to get those annual check ups and take care of yourself! i hope you all stay happy and healthy ✌🏼
