Dr. Afrouz Demehri, ND knows what you’re thinking about the Pap test.

She writes:

OUCH. They suck! They must have been invented by a man right?

PAP tests shouldn’t be the yearly visit to your doctor that you dread or want to avoid.
.
I was diagnosed with #CervicalDysplasia when I was in my 1st year of Naturopathic medical school. As part of school we had to have a visit with a 4th year intern. I had had a PAP with my regular GP two years prior and it was normal.

I am forever grateful that I was tested and that I SHOWED up for the visit. I haven’t had one abnormal PAP since.

Getting a PAP is essential and you should NOT delay it. Prevent Cervical Cancer.

OUCH. They suck! They must have been invented by a man right? . Well, actually they were! Greek Physician, Dr.George Papanicolaou, to be exact. PAP tests shouldn’t be the yearly visit to your doctor that you dread or want to avoid . I was diagnosed with #CervicalDysplasia when I was in my 1st year of Naturopathic medical school. As part of school we had to have a visit with a 4th year intern. I had had a PAP with my regular GP two years prior and it was normal. . She was also the first to ever test me for #HPV – A virus known to cause changes within the cells of the cervix that can cause #cervicalcancer. She said I didn't have it. I didn't know much back then about what she was talking about. I just wanted to get back to my dorm room and cram for my Anatomy and physiology exam. . I am forever grateful that I was tested and that I SHOWED up for the visit. I haven't had one abnormal PAP since. What did I do? I did exactly what she told me to do. I completely changed my diet. My premed diet I have to say was not the best and lacked micronutrients such as vitamin A, Folate, Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C and others. I also took nutrecueticals known to reverse early stage #Cervicaldysplasia. . Getting a PAP is essential and you should NOT delay it. Prevent Cervical Cancer. Get yourself checked and ask your doctor to check for HPV as well. . My patients call me the “PAP Queen”. They discover that PAP’s do not have to be fast, painful and can actually be very educational and insightful. Yep you heard right, PAP’s can be insightful! . Have you ever seen the door that life enters from and the door that life is created out of? (Hint: I'm talking about your cervix) . Have you? Well if I do your PAP, I will ask if you want to see your cervix.
