“I may live in a house full of boys, but I still understand the importance of being female. I also understand the importance of getting the proper care for our bodies. If you are a woman you have probably heard of a Pap test, but did you know not all women have access to this crucial screening test? This test is important to tell if you have cervical cancer, as it is often asymptomatic. It should be done regularly, to every woman, regardless of your income. It should not be a question of if you can afford it, because your life does not come with a price tag. I get checked regularly, because that peace of mind allows me to breathe a little knowing I will be around to enjoy the little things in life. I advocate for yearly screenings for ALL women, because I want my niece to grow up knowing the power in being a woman, and making sure we are around to change the world.”
